Seven Montenegrin partners secure funding under Interreg Euro-MED Fourth Call

Seven Montenegrin institutions and organisations will participate in an equal number of thematic projects approved under the Fourth Call of the Interreg Euro-MED 2021–2027 cooperation programme.

The decision was made at the Interreg Euro-MED Monitoring Committee meeting held in Marseille, France, on 6 March 2025, with 23 out of 167 submitted project proposals approved for funding.

The total value of all approved projects amounts to approximately €46.3 million, with Montenegrin partners’ involvement being worth €1.2 million, 80% of which represents EU funding.

Through collaboration with partner institutions across the European Mediterranean region, the projects will involve the following Montenegrin entities: Port of Kotor, Chamber of Commerce of Montenegro, Business Start-Up Foundation Bar, Centre for Tourism Development and Cooperation, Municipality of Bar, Municipality of Budva and Municipality of Nikšić.

Six of the projects involving Montenegrin partners focus on test project ideas, while one project is dedicated to transfer activities. In terms of Interreg Euro-MED missions, four Montenegrin partners will work on projects in the field of sustainable tourism, while the remaining three will implement projects aimed at strengthening innovative economy, protecting and enhancing natural heritage and developing green living areas.

The implementation of the selected projects is set to begin on 1 April 2025. To prepare partners for project implementation, an online seminar will be held on 3 April 2025, open to all partners involved in projects approved under the Fourth Call.

The Ministry of European Affairs of Montenegro congratulates all the selected institutions and wishes them success in implementing their projects.
